The majority of our students train for self defense and self improvement purposes. Some of our more serious students enter competitions on occasion to test their skills against other students from outside our dojo. The results of some of these most recent competitions are shown below:

Chris Canale - 185 lbs
Win via submission, Americana arm lock, 3:30 into first round
Chris was dominant in his third pro fight. Chris was able to obtain the mount and was effectively punching from the mount. Eventually he was able secure an Americana armlock on his hapless opponent and get the submission. Chris is now 2-1 as a pro fighter.

Victory 1st round, submission due to strikes
Chris was dominant in his 2nd pro fight. Chris quickly achieved the take down at the start of the bout, ending in side control. Chris progressed to the mount position. From the mount Chris did a good job of maintaining the mount, and he was able to rain punches on his hapless opponent until the official stopped the bout at approx 1 minute into the first round.

We had a strong turnout for this event. For many of our students this was their first grappling competition. Our students grappled very well and placed consistently high in their brackets. As a school we took 3rd place in both Gi and no-Gi divisions. The schools that placed higher than us sent significantly more grapplers to this event.

Chris was able to control the action in his 4th MMA bout. Chris took his opponent down and was striking from the mounted position. His opponent gave up his back to avoid the strikes and Chris secured the RNC and the submission.
Chris is now 3-1 as an MMA fighter.

In his first MMA bout, Nate did a great job. Taken down early in the round, Nate used his guard to weather a flurry of punches before securing a triangle choke just 53 seconds into the first round.
